Microsoft Press Training Kit
Today I tried to install the Test Exam from the Microsoft Press Training Kit on Vista. It installed but it wouldn’t run.
Run-time error ‘-2147319779 (8002801d)’:
Automation error
Library not registered.
That’s it. No errors in the event logs, nada. I upgraded from 7.9.0.2 to 7.9.0.9 with the same result. Gah.

Odd. Microsoft popping up with inscrutable errors and lacking any measure of further solutions? Not like them.
*cough*

I have the exact same error, did you figure out what the issue was?

Yes, Vista blows. I ended up installing it on XP running in a virtual machine.

Anybody figured out this fix?

Got it to work on original Vista Business by disabling UAC. With SP1, it errors out again whether UAC is enabled or not.
70-620 on Vista… oh the irony!

In my case enabling(!) UAC solves this problem (even with Vista SP1 installed).

This problem comes up only with Vista… but there is an easy fix to it…
On Vista 32-bit, Try running this:
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\Vsocx6.ocx
Fixed it for me!
On Vista 64-bit use
regsvr32 C:\Windows\syswow64\Vsocx6.ocx
